Once you have arrived in Alice Springs, you may want to go on a tour to another destination. Simply select the option below to view tours which depart from Alice Springs.

 What to Bring: Sturdy walking shoes (ankle high), swimming gear, hat & sunscreen, water bottle, towel & toiletries, torch, warm clothing in winter months, camera & film, insect repellent, pillow, sleeping bag (can be hired for $15)

 Hikes Involved:: Hikes up to 5kms per day - basic fitness required  
 Tour Accommodation: Permanent Campsites - have permanently erected tents, permanent cooking facilities and purpose-built fire pits, screened eating areas, share showers and toilets.

Hotel/Lodge Accommodation - Generally 2-3 star standard with private facilities.

 Places of Interest: During this tour, you will visit the following areas:

Litchfield National Park, Kakadu National Park, Darwin, Katherine Gorge, Banka Banka, Mataranka Springs, Devils Marbles, Alice Springs, Uluru (Ayers Rock), Kata Tjuta (Olgas), Kings Canyon, Aboriginal Culture.  
 Notes: This tour includes 6 nights camping and 3 nights motel accommodation (motel accommodation is based on twin share).

Itinerary may vary according to seasonal conditions. Package is made up of 3 individual tours, therefore you may travel with a different guide and passengers during each section.  
This tour also operates in reverse from Alice Springs to Darwin.
 Tour Itinerary:

Tour Day 1 - Darwin to Mary River

See the falls of Litchfield National Park before arriving at the Mary River Wetlands. This afternoon look for ’crocs’ and other wildlife on our private river cruise. Arrive at Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge for dinner and overnight camp. (LD)

Tour Day 2 - Mary River to Kakadu National Park

Our first stop is Ubirr where we discover ancient Aboriginal rock art and climb to enjoypicturesque views. We continue on to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge), where we hike to the plunge pools for a refreshing dip. Stay overnight at our permanent camp within Kakadu National Park. (BLD)

Tour Day 3 - Kakadu to Darwin

This morning we 4WD into the awesome Jim Jim Falls, hiking to the base of the falls then continue on to Twin Falls. Here we join a National Park operated boat and boardwalk experience up the stunning gorge to the waterfall and sandy bank. In the afternoon we return to Darwin, enjoying the impressive scenery along the way. (BL)

Tour Day 4 - Darwin City

A day free to relax and enjoy the tropical city of Darwin. Take a look at the Museum, try fish feeding at Doctors Gully or visit the Indo-Pacific Marine (day at own expense). Overnight in Motel. (No meals)

Tour Day 5 - Darwin to Katherine Gorge

After a refreshment break at Adelaide River we head to Katherine, home to the majestic Katherine (Nitmiluk) Gorge situated in the Nitmiluk National Park where we spend the entire afternoon either canoeing or cruising (at own expense) the striking gorge. Dinner and overnight stay is at our permanent camp near Katherine Gorge. (LD)

Tour Day 6 - Katherine Gorge to Tennant Creek

A short distance south, relax in a crystal clear thermal pool surrounded by lush tropical forest at Mataranka. Next we visit the famous outback pub at Daly Waters, the oldest in the Northern Territory and first international airport in Australia! After lunch, we travel south to Tennant Creek for our overnight camp at Juno Horse Farm. (BLD)

Tour Day 7 - Tennant Creek to Alice Springs

This morning we check out the Devils Marbles; precariously balanced granite boulders sacred to the traditional owners’ then stop in at the Barrow Creek Pub to view the historic Telegraph Station. A little further down the ‘track’ we take a break at Ti Tree, for an opportunity to purchase authentic Aboriginal art. We then cross the Tropic of Capricorn and arrive into Alice Springs late in the afternoon. Overnight motel accommodation included. (BL)

Tour Day 8 - Alice Spring - Kata Tjuta - Uluru

We travel to the Outback Camel Farm for an optional camel ride (at own expense). Then we enjoy the sights of the ancient Hugh and Finke River systems, Mt Connor and the unique scenery on our journey on to Uluru (Ayers Rock). After lunch at Yulara, we explore the Valley of the Winds in the majestic Kata Tjuta (Olgas) then return to enjoy champagne with the sun setting over Uluru. Camp at our permanent campsite in tents or view the brilliance of the outback night sky while sleeping in an authentic Aussie bedroll (swag). (LD)

Tour Day 9 - Uluru to Kings Canyon

Up before sunrise for a base walk at Uluru to explore the mysterious rock formations and Aboriginal art sites or choose to climb. Visit the Cultural Centre for a greater insight into Aboriginal art and beliefs. After lunch we head to Kings Canyon for our overnight camp. (BLD)

Tour Day 10 - Kings Canyon to Alice Springs

Climb and explore spectacular Kings Canyon, view the ’Amphitheatre’, ’The Lost City’, the picturesque ’Garden of Eden’ and the breathtaking North and South Walls, then enjoy a refreshing dip in the waterhole (summer only). After lunch, we return to Alice Springs viewing the rugged desert scenery along the way. (BL)
